Ghana’s ‘Chairman General’ and co-host of the just ended 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Kwame Sefa Kayi, has revealed that the winners of the two unannounced categories were Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
The much-coveted overall Artiste of the Year and Vodafone Song of the Year categories were intentionally withheld from being announced as the two winners of the categories were the same ones involved in the scuffle.
In Kwame’s own words he said in an interview on Neat FM, “It was intentional. There were two awards left, Song of the year and Artiste of the year, one was for Shatta, one for Stonebwoy”.
“There was no way we could have announced that, because if you call one out and things escalate, what would we do? So we had to suspend both and go ahead to pronounce the Artiste of the decade, that was the final award”, he said.
The above statement would be officially confirmed in a press conference by Charterhouse Productions, organisers of the VGMAs.
